Most programs are provided by Baltimore, Carroll, or Harford County Recreation and Parks, in conjunction with local recreation councils.

Programs are generally COED, and open to all adults ages 18 and over.

These are NOT leagues, and teams are chosen at random ("drop-in" or "pick-up"). Registration may close if there are large numbers of players.

Some venues use old rules (15 point games, net serve=sideout). New rules are rally scoring to 25 points, net serves good. Special house rules may also apply in some cases.

Fees vary, but are typically $1.00 per night or $10-$15 per season.
