Ongoing Activities

SUNDAYS (Second, Fourth, and Fifth):

Sunday Singles Dance at the Best Western in Westminster on Rt. 140. 7:00-11:00 PM. Admission of $6.00 at the door includes snacks and fun; cash bar. No shorts or denim please. For more information see the Sunday Singles website at http://www.sundaysingles.org/ or e-mail Peggy.

SUNDAYS (Third, Fourth and Fifth), each month:

PWP Open dances, at Columbus Gardens in Perry Hall, from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. Cash bar.

WEDNESDAYS, after work:

Sunday Singles Happy Hour meets on Wednesday nights after work at Johanssen's Downunder in Westminster, Md. Happy Hour is from 5:30-7:30pm! For details and directions see website at www.sundaysingles.org or e-mail Peggy.

FRIDAYS, 7 PM to after Midnight:

Play volleyball and socialize until you drop at Volleyball House in Elkridge. Many levels of play and lots of friendly, energetic people. Good music, too, and refreshments are available. $6.00 admission. Carpools may be arranged from Towson or Westminster. Spring Activities - 2003

March

SUNDAY, March 16: (Rescheduled April 13):

SATURDAY, March 22: Celebrate the start of spring by helping cheer up lonely and infirm veterans who have given a lot for our country, by visiting them at Perry Point VA Hospital and participating in a very therapeutic and personally rewarding Sing-along. Following our visit we may go for a short walk along the promenade in Havre De Grace, and enjoy a dinner. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd at 1:30 PM. (We will meet members of Harford Singles at I95 exit 77, Rt 24, about 2:00 PM). SATURDAY and SUNDAY, March 29-30: Find bargains in electronics and computer hardware and software at the annual Hamfest at Timonium Fairgrounds. Learn more about ham radio and meet interesting people. It's a huge flea market with people selling tools, parts, antiques, crafts, books, CDs, records, radios, surplus gear, and other stuff. SATURDAY, April 12: Get "Straw-buried" on a Full Moon Hay Ride at Yoder's Land of Promise Farm in Long Green. After the farm tour in a tractor-pulled wagon, we will have hot dogs, hot cider, cocoa, and marshmallows cooked on a bonfire, and there will be a sing-along with live music. Bring your guitar, harmonica, or other instrument. Cost is $6.00 for members, $8.00 for non-members. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd at 7:00 PM. SUNDAY, April 13: Enjoy the early spring signs of new life, and get some good exercise on a challenging "Full Moon Power Hike" near the PP&L power plant along the Susquehanna River on the Kelly's Run and Pinnacle Overlook trails. Cap it off with a great dinner enroute home at the Delta Restaurant. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd at 1:00 PM. (We will meet members of Harford Singles at the Station House at Rt 165 and Rt 23 in Jarrettsville about 1:30 PM). For details, email Paul.

Sunday, April 20: Celebrate the true meaning of Easter at an informal Easter Sunrise Service at Rocks State Park at 6:30 AM, followed by fellowship with coffee, cocoa, and donuts. Then burn off the calories on a moderate 3-5 mile hike around the King and Queen's seat, followed by a proper breakfast at a restaurant in Jarrettsville. Be back home in time for a snooze before Easter dinner. We will meet at the church parking lot on Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Road at 5:30 AM. (We will meet members of Harford Singles at the Station House at Rt 165 and Rt 23 in Jarrettsville about 6:00 AM) For more information, email Paul.

THURSDAY, April 24 to Saturday, April 26: (Tentative) 2nd Annual Spring Arcadia Bluegrass Festival. Music to 11:00 PM each day. Cost $15-$25/day. Camping available for $3.00-$5.00/night. SUNDAY, April 27: Bay Bridge Walk. (Tentative) Carpool from Towson at 10:00 AM. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd.

SATURDAY or SUNDAY, May 3-4: (Tentative) Attend the 36th Annual Towsontown Spring Festival. Free admission, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. If anyone is interested, email Paul. We may meet about 1:00 PM at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd.

SATURDAY, May 3: (Tentative) Give it your best shot with an Evening of Billiards. Meet at the Top Hat Cue Club at the corner of Joppa Rd and Perring Parkway at 8:30 PM. Cost is $2.50/hr. Free coffee! 50 cent hot dogs! For more details, email Paul at pstech at smart.net .

SATURDAY, May 10 to SUNDAY, May 11: Get an early start on your tan at the Mid Atlantic Volleyball First Rites of Summer tournament in Rehoboth Beach. We'll probably go camping nearby. For more details, email Paul at pstech at smart.net .

FRIDAY, May 30 to SUNDAY, June 1: Get away for a weekend and listen to great music at the Western Maryland Blues Festival in Hagerstown. Camp at a KOA campground nearby. Features legendary blues artist John Mayall. Saturday fees are about $20, Sunday program in the beautiful park is FREE. Check www.blues-fest.org for information. Summer Activities -2003

June

SUNDAY, June 22: (Tentative) Enjoy a German style festival to celebrate the summer solstice, with ethnic food, beer, polka dancing, and Gemuetlichkeit at the SonnenWend Feier at Blob's Park, featuring a bonfire and "fire-leaping". Admission is about $5.00. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd at 2:30 PM. For details, email Paul pstech at smart.net .

FRIDAY-SUNDAY, June 27-29: Get away from it all on a Weekend Cabin Trip to Harper's Ferry, and attend the free program "Our Freedom's Birth" at the NPS visitor center. For details, see website: http://www.nps.gov/hafe/new/nr-june-29-2002.htm. Good music and a great fireworks display in the evening. Opportunities for hiking, biking, sightseeing, and just relaxing. July

FRIDAY, July 4: Attend a good old-fashioned big July 4 celebration at Baker Park in Frederick. Play volleyball, go swimming ($4 pool fee), or enjoy several venues of music including Big Band, Country, and Rock. This year features (A Major Concert) at 3:15 PM. August

FRIDAY and SATURDAY, August 22 and 23: Get away for the weekend and have fun at Hagerstown's "Augustoberfest", featuring "60s Under The Stars" on Friday night, and a German style festival on Saturday. We will camp at the nearby KOA in Williamsport. We may also go to the Potomac Blues Festival in Cumberland. We will probably leave about 4:00 PM Friday, and return Sunday. Fall Activities - 2003

September

MONDAY, September 1: Labor Day Charity Picnic at Double Rock Park. Bring at least $5.00 donation for MDA, and food and drink to share. 1:00-7:00 PM. For details, email Paul at pstech at smart.net .

FRIDAY, September 12 to Sunday, September 14: Spend one last weekend at the ocean and enjoy MAV's Mayor's Cup Volleyball Tournament. October

FRIDAY, October 3 to Sunday, October 5: Enjoy a Camping Weekend near Harper's Ferry. We may attend the PATC Pig Roast at Blackburn Trail Center, or camp at the KOA Friday and Saturday night. On Sunday, we will attend the Rail Days celebration in Brunswick, MD, featuring train rides to Martinsburg, entertainment, music, good food, and old-fashioned fun For details, email Paul at pstech at smart.net . SUNDAY, December 7: Walk on scenic flat trails by the Chesapeake Bay on an easy 3-5 mile Black Marsh Hike at North Point State Park. Possible dinner stop after hike at White Swan Restaurant in Millers Island. Meet at the church parking lot at the corner of Seminary Avenue and Dulaney Valley Rd at 1:00 PM.
